The investigation by Lakewood police, the prosecutor’s office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation unit found that Michael Wood Jr., 30, of Lakehurst, was driving a 2015 Kia Sportage traveling east on Route 528 when he struck Schinerman just east of the Hillside Boulevard crosswalk with the front passenger side of his vehicle, Della Fave said.
"A statement, blood draw and forensic cell phone review will all be part of the continuing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident," Della Fave said. "The vehicle was removed from the scene and transported to OC Sheriff’s Department CSI, pending a search warrant."
