Person In Crisis Safely Surrenders To Police, SWAT In Brick

BRICK, NJ — A person who had barricaded themselves inside a trailer on Mantoloking Road safely surrendered to authorities on Tuesday, Brick Township police said.

The person, whom police did not identify, was suffering an emotional crisis, Patrol Officer Victoria Finelli said.

Police and the SWAT team were able to successfully negotiate with the person, who safely surrendered, she said.

The incident began around 10:30 a.m., according to witnesses who contacted Patch, and police and the SWAT team were seen in the area until the incident was resolved sometime before 1:30 p.m.
