PHOTOS: Career Day at Drum Point School

Diverse array of fields represented at school career day

Drum Point Road Elementary School recently held its annual Career Day, where the school welcomed local residents from a diverse array of professions to talk to students about their work.

Presenters ranged from local police officers and county sheriff's officers to lobster fishermen, paramedics, emergency room physicians and television station directors. Other presenters came from the ranks of the New Jersey State Police, local law offices, yahct repair businesses and car dealerships.

Mayor Stephen C. Acropolis and Assistant Township Planner Tara Paxton were among presenters, as well.

Every class had at least four guest speakers and as many as six, said Dina Silvestri, the district's Community Relations Officer. In all, 51 speakers made presentations to students.
