Brick Police Release Photos Of Trio In Armed Robbery At Rite Aid

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police released further details on an armed robbery where three men stole narcotics from a Rite Aid late Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the Rite Aid at 1041 Burnt Tavern Road about 6 p.m. Sunday and were told three black males entered the store, Detective Sgt. Henry Drew said.

One of the men, who was armed with a silver and black handgun, disabled the store's automatic door and kept watch over a store associate and several patrons, Drew said.

The other two men, one of whom had a black handgun, went to the pharmacy at the rear of the store, jumped over the counter and demanded several types of prescription narcotics, Drew said. The employees turned over the narcotics, which the suspects loaded into a backpack then the two ran to the front of the store, he said.

At that time the third man reactivated the automatic door and all three ran out the door and toward Red Maple Drive, Drew said.

Information received on scene by the responding officers indicated the three may have gotten into a small black or blue SUV, described as possibly being either a Toyota or Mazda, with no visible front plate, he said. The vehicle then headed eastbound on Van Zile Road toward Route 70, he said.

Drew said the three men were described as follows:

• Subject #1: Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, 170-190 pounds, 20-30 years of age, full beard and mustache, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark shorts, white sneakers, in possession of silver and black semi-automatic handgun.
• Subject #2: Black male, approximately 5-foot-8, 150-170 pounds, 20-30 years of age, wearing gray sweatpants, a black jacket, white sneakers, a white hat with a black Adidas symbol, and a dark-colored backpack, in possession of a black semi-automatic handgun.
• Subject #3: Black male, approximately 5-foot-9, 150-170 pounds, 20-30 years of age, clean shaven, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue sweat pants with a double white stripe.
