Byrnes reported Griffin was unconscious and unresponsive; CPR was performed and Griffin was transported to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, authorities said.

During the investigation, authorities determined that Griffin owned a vehicle parked in the historic park and said that Griffin was intent on harming himself after he left his home earlier that day, according to authorities.

Griffin was pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident does not appear to be suspicious, police said.
