Police Talk Man Out Of Brick Home After 2 Hours
The standoff began about 5:30 p.m., when paramedics responding to a report of a drug overdose saw a weapon, police said.

A 42-year-old man was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after crisis negotiators convinced him to come out of a house after a two-hour standoff on Millbrook Drive, Brick Township Police Chief Nils R. Bergquist said.
Bergquist said the incident began about 5:30 p.m. when MONOC paramedics responded to the home for a first aid call for a report of an overdose. When they arrived, however, the man refused to be treated or evaluated, police said. Millbrook Drive is off Lanes Mill Road, near Herbertsville Elementary School.
“They saw a weapon, backed out of the house and called us,” Bergquist said.
