Poll: Should Toms River Truck Driver Who Fell Through Ice, Killing Dog, Be Criminally Charged?

Vote and tell us the rationale for your vote.

New Jersey State Police are still investigating Sunday’s incident where a Toms River man’s pickup truck broke through the ice on the Toms River and submerged, killing a dog.

On Monday, state police said one man, Daniel Jolly, 25, of Toms River, will not be charged in the incident. Jolly was a passenger in the pickup truck but got out before the driver, 27-year-old Andrew Mayer, drove onto the frozen river. Divers had to retrieve the body of the dog, a boxer, from the river on Sunday.

No charges have been filed yet against Mayer, but Capt. Stephen Jones said the investigation is continuing.
