Postal Carrier Faces Weapons Charges In Ocean County Incident, Police Say

The carrier was arrested while out on a delivery route.

JACKSON, NJ — A U.S. Postal Service carrier is facing weapons and other charges following an incident in Jackson on Sept. 26, Jackson police said Tuesday.

The carrier, whose identity was not immediately released by police, was arrested Monday while on a delivery route, according to photos published by The Lakewood Scoop.

Jackson police said the department's Special Response team and federal Postal Police were involved in the arrest.

The carrier was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal attempt, criminal mischief and harassment, police said.

They did not immediately provide details about the Sept. 26 incident or about the weapon that prompted the charges.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
