Preschool Playground At Warren H Wolf School Open For Play

BRICK, NJ — A handicapped-accessible preschool playground has been installed at Warren H. Wolf Early Childhood Development Center, Brick Township school district officials announced.

The playground has developmentally appropriate games, a storefront, musical instruments and equipment to foster balance and core strength.

Students were able to watch from the school windows as the workers used heavy equipment to excavate the area and assemble the playground, which was built using primarily Preschool Expansion Grant Funds.

"Our new playground gives us an incredible opportunity for our students to have a multisensory, interactive space that they can utilize for their gross motor activity," said Theresa Goodfellow, principal of Warren H. Wolf Early Childhood Development Center.

The playground has open space where the kids can run around, drums and xylophone, and equipment where they can climb. A track around the outside of the playground gives students a place to ride their bikes and cars.

The district's preschool program is funded by a Preschool Expansion Grant through the state of New Jersey, and has preschoolers with special needs integrated with general education preschoolers.
