Primary Election 2016: Democrats Pick 2 To Face Kelly, Haines In Ocean Freeholder Race
Six candidates on three tickets were vying for the Democratic nomination.

The nominees from the Regular Ocean County Democratic Committee won the official nomination to face off against John P. "Jack" Kelly and Virginia Haines for two seats on the Ocean County Board of Freeholders.
Michael B. Cooke and Ed Wolff will face off against Kelly and Haines in the fall, based on unofficial vote tallies.
Cooke received 17,092 votes and Wolff received 16,370, beating their nearest challengers by more than 5,000 votes. Robyn Gedrich had 10,168, Joni Brennan received 9,897 and outdistanced Scott Neuman and Tracy Caprioni easily. Caprioni received 2,737 and Neuman had 2,360, according to the Ocean County Board of Elections, as 77,657 votes were cast in the Democratic Primary.
