Della Fave said Brick Township police responded to a call shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday regarding a stabbing at a Cedar Bridge address. Upon arrival they found the woman, who had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and abdomen.
The woman was alert, however, and told police she knew the man who stabbed her and that he was still in the bedroom of the residence, Della Fave said. Police called EMS to treat the woman, and while she was being taken to Jersey Shore, searched the home and found Dalzell in the bedroom, covered in blood, he said.
