Reorganization Meetings On Tap: This Week In Brick

The start of the new year brings with it new members for the Board of Education, and the township council's reorganization.

BRICK, NJ — Welcome to 2023, which is kicking off in Brick Township with the annual reorganization meetings of the Township Council and the Board of Education.

Here's a look at the week ahead in Brick.

The Township Council reorganization meeting, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, includes the selection of the council's president and vice president for the year, along with approving a temporary budget and various professional appointments.

The meeting is set for the municipal building, 401 Chambers Bridge Road.

The agenda for the meeting also includes appointments to several boards and committees in Brick.

The school board reorganization meeting is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at the district's Professional Development Center at 101 Hendrickson Blvd.

Madeline Colagiovanni Iannarone and Frances DiBenedictis, who won election to the board, are scheduled to be sworn in their three-year terms. Iannarone was the top vote-getter, with 11,362 and DiBenedictis received 9,958 votes. They defeated Erin Wheeler, who received 8,979, and Maureen Molz, who received 7,802, according to the official vote tallies certified by the Ocean County Clerk's Office.

In addition, the Brick Township Board of Adjustment has its reorganization meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting agenda also includes hearings on four applications, including one for the site plan for a residential project at 406 Mantoloking Road.
