Report Of Person With Shotgun Unsubstantiated, Brick Police Say

A report of a person carrying a shotgun and walking around in the area of Route 88 prompted a helicopter-assisted search but could not be substantiated Tuesday afternoon, Brick Township police said.

Patch readers reported seeing a state police helicopter circling in the area of Route 88 near the Tuscany Restaurant between 4 and 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

But the watch commander at police headquarters said Brick police investigated the report with the assistance of a state police helicopter but the result of the search was negative.
