Republicans Name Ebert To Brick Council Slate

He replaces Dan Toth, who withdrew his candidacy earlier this month.

The Republican slate for the Brick Township Council race has been filled out, after the Ocean County Republican Committee appointed Martin Ebert to the ticket.

Ebert fills the spot vacated when former Councilman Dan Toth withdrew from the race earlier this month in the wake of his arrest on a charge he touched a teen boy sexually, a charge Toth denies.

In an email to local Republican Club members that was shared with the Patch, Brian DeLuca, chairman of the Brick Republican municipal committee, said Ebert was selected unanimously to fill the spot.

Ebert owns a process-serving company, delivering summonses, subpoenas and other legal documents, as well as skip tracing (of people who skip out after posting bail), property inspection, loss mitigation and collateral search and inspection, according to the website for his company, N.J. Archangel.

Ebert joins Frank Pannucci Jr., Michael Conti and Charles Bacon on the ballot, seeking three full council terms as well as the final year of Mayor John Ducey’s council term, a seat currently held by Andrea Zapcic.
