Rockin for Rob to Beat Leukemia - Fundraiser for Local Father of 3

Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Swab for Local Brick Man

It’s summer and there are “flower patches” blooming all over Brick! Have you seen them yet? These beautiful little patches are popping up all over in honor of local man Rob Kalp. Rob works for Brick Township and chances are that you have seen him taking care of the very fields that our towns’ children play on. He is under treatment now for leukemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant.

These flower patches are passed on – once someone has been ”planted”, they enjoy it for 24 hours. They can then choose to donate and pay it forward to pass it on to someone else.

This is all to help raise money and bring awareness for the Rockin’ for Rob to Beat Leukemia event to be held on July 4 at the Brick P.A.L. There will be a blood drive, blood marrow swab and fundraiser picnic. Central Jersey Blood Bank will have trucks on hand all day, but it is best to make an appointment through this link if you plan to donate blood. Food and drink will be available for a $10 donation per person. There will also be a bake sale, raffles, and music.

Rob is a longtime Brick resident here with his wife and their three children. He has a long and difficult road ahead of him with very aggressive chemotherapy treatments in hopes of getting him in a state of remission in order to get the transplant.

How can you help?
