Royal Farms, Corrado's Still In A Holding Pattern In Brick
Representatives of the convenience store and the grocery store say unforeseen delays are continuing to stall their progress toward opening.

BRICK, NJ — They are among the most-asked questions in Brick Township over the last several months: When are Corrado's and Royal Farms going to open?
The short answer: No one knows for certain.
Royal Farms, the convenience store chain known in several southern states for its fried chicken has been an eagerly anticipated addition to Brick. But the building has stood quietly at the former Jersey Paddler site since the summer.

There have been multiple statements about the store's opening, with the date continually pushed back, and rumors have abounded. The store is listed on the Royal Farms website among its "coming soon" store locations, but that list gives no indication of when the store will open.
Royal Farms officials are not committing to an opening date. In an email last month, a spokeswoman said the opening date has not been set.

"We’ve run into a few delays beyond our control and do not have an opening date to report. Unfortunately, we do not have any further updates to share at this time," she said.
She did not provide details on the delays.
Corrado's Family Market, which has been equally subject to rumors, has been equally tight-lipped about when it might open after repeatedly having to push back its opening date in the former Pathmark site at Laurel Square Shopping Center.
In a Jan. 15 reply to a question about the Brick store on the Corrado's Facebook page, a store representative said they are continuing to face supply chain issues.
"We are experiencing major delays in acquiring equipment, fixtures, material, etc," the representative wrote. "We will open as soon as we can."
The store is anticipated to have a wine and beer store next door under the Corrado's name.
