BRICK, NJ — Vounteers are being sought to help distribute food and gifts to needy families at the 12th Annual Salvation Army Gift Drive distribution.

A news release from the Brick Township School District said the Salvation Army Gift drive serves approximately 450 students and their families with gifts and groceries; it is one of the largest gift drives that Salvation Army has in New Jersey, the news release said.

"Many of our families rely on this gift drive to help in providing food and toys to make the holiday complete for their children," the news release said.

Volunteers can assist with sorting gifts and food and distribution, and organizers said help is welcomed at any time during this juncture, for as long or as short as they would like. It is preferred, however, that if volunteers have no preference that they come earlier (versus later) in the day to help with gift set-up and organization.

The gift and food distribution is set for Sunday, Dec. 17, at the American Legion, 826 Mantoloking Road, Brick.
