Seaside Heights Postpones Easter Egg Hunt

Snowstorm predictions prompt decision, officials say.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ -- The annual Easter egg hunt on the beach in Seaside Heights has been pushed back, as a result of the weekend forecast calling for snow.

The free event was scheduled to be held this Sunday, but the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District decided to move it to next Saturday, March 26, the organization announced on its website, exit82.com.

The Easter egg hunt for up to 15,000 eggs begins at 1 p.m. and is open to children up to age 10, the organization says. There also will be a challenger area for kids with special needs, it says.

Different sections of the beach are designated for the differing age groups, and the eggs contain prizes such as free tickets for rides, skeeball games and food, the organization says. There also will be golden eggs with seasonal beach badges in them from the Borough of Seaside Heights, it says.

Radio station B98.5 will be in front of the Franklin Avenue Stage broadcasting live.
