Senior Center Grand Opening Announced In Brick

The renovated center is ready to open to serve Brick's seniors in a central location.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township residents who enjoy programs offered at the township's Senior Center have a new place to gather for those activities, as the new facility is set to open.

The grand opening for the center, at 500 Aurora Place, is set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome residents to new space, which is more centrally located.

The senior center activities have been held at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8867 on Adamston Road, and the senior services staff has been at Civic Plaza, but they will be relocated to the new center as well.

The renovation of the building, which had once housed the Brick Township First Aid, cost $1 million, funded in part by a $400,000 federal grant.

The site also houses Brick Township Emergency Medical Services.
