Simon Kidgits Club Hosting Happy Haunting Halloween Party at Ocean County Mall
Ocean County Mall will offer children a safe place to take part in Halloween activities at its annual Halloween Spook-Tacular

Ocean County Mall will offer Toms River-area children a safe place to take part in Halloween activities as the Simon Kidgits Club® presents its annual Halloween Spook-Tacular, along with a costume contest with WJRZ 100.1 FM, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Center Court.
“Ocean County Mall is the perfect place for families looking for Halloween entertainment in a fun, safe community environment,” said Tara Melodick, director of marketing and business development for Ocean County Mall. “Whether kids want to show off their new costume or take home some Halloween-themed crafts, there is an activity here for every ghost, witch, princess and werewolf. This Halloween event is a great addition to our year-long Simon Kidgits Club programs.”
This year, The Simon Kidgits Club will recognize October as Bully Prevention Month in association with ‘Malls & Retailers Unite Against Bullying,’ and their children’s property Captain McFinn.
Captain McFinn promotes social and emotional development in children through live virtual playdates, online games, apps and resources for parents and teachers.
At Ocean County Mall’s Halloween Spook-Tacular, a free app called The Bully Free Zone will be available for download. The Bully Free Zone is an app released by Captain McFinn and features fun activities, a new McFinn cartoon, and a chance for families to win a free iPad Air.
Families who download the app can sign the Bully Free pledge and help spread the word about bully prevention. They can also spread kindness with one of the app’s featured activities, the Kindness Calendar. With the Kindness Calendar, children and parents receive prompts to complete acts of kindness. Once an act is complete, it is tracked in the Kindness feed. The more kind acts that are accomplished, the more badges children and their parents receive. This free app is a perfect and fun way for families to participate in Bully Prevention Month.
Ocean County Mall will have several activity stations and games for children to enjoy, which includes two seasonal crafts and an inflatable Zombie game, and participants will receive goodies such as Trick or Treat bags, Halloween Grabbers, glow-in-the dark necklaces, Halloween whistles, stickers and more.
On air radio personality Glenn Kalina from 100.1 WJRZ will be broadcasting live starting at 2 p.m. and the station will host a Halloween Costume Contest. Morning Show host Matt Knight from Matt Night in the Morning will emcee the contest, which is open to children ages four to 10 years old. Costumed kids are invited to register from 3 to 6 p.m., with the contest beginning at 6 p.m., and vie for great prizes from Ocean County Mall retailers.
From 4 p.m. through 7 p.m., the Kidgits Halloween Spook-Tacular will offer fun arts and crafts for children, as well as giveaways. For $10, costumed kids can capture a fun momento from their experience during individual photo opportunities with The Noerr Programs. And, children can engage in a Mall-wide Trick or Treat event, participating stores, while supplies last. A complete list of retailers that will dish out treats will be available at Simon Guest Services.
