Six Flags Great Adventure Employee Dies After Being Hit By Truck: Police

Breaking: The 19-year-old was taken off life support over the weekend, police said.

JACKSON, NJ — A 19-year-old man has died of injuries suffered when he was hit by a boom truck while working at Six Flags Great Adventure last week, according to Jackson Township police.

Great Adventure officials and police are continuing to investigate the incident that happened shortly before 7 a.m. Friday.

The 19-year-old, who was not identified, was working on stringing lights in the fountain area at Great Adventure he was hit by the truck, Jackson Capt. Steven Laskiewicz said.

"We are deeply saddened by our colleague’s passing and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time," said Kristin Siebeneicher Fitzgerald, communications manager for Six Flags Great Adventure. "The foundation of our company and the industry is safety, and we are conducting a comprehensive investigation into this incident."

The young man was taken to a hospital for treatment, but Laskiewicz said Jackson police were notified over the weekend that he had been taken off life support and died.
