Snowstorm Knocks Out Power To Dozens In Ocean County

Heavy, wet snow caused problems throughout the county and in Monmouth County.

BRICK, NJ -- Dozens of Ocean County resident remain without power Friday afternoon in the wake of a snowstorm that dropped about 3 inches of heavy, wet flakes around the area, according to Jersey Central Power & Light’s outage map.

The outages are scattered but primarily in northern Ocean County, with Brick, Lakewood and Jackson having pockets of customers without electricity, as well as the barrier island.

The outages aren’t as severe as those that occurred during the blizzard two weeks ago, where 117,000 JCP&L customers lost power, with the majority of those in Ocean County.
