State Of Emergency Declared In Brick Due To Flooding
The heavy rain prompted more than 100 evacuations and more rain is in the forecast.

BRICK, NJ — A state of emergency has been declared in Brick Township on Monday by Police Chief James Riccio as the township continues to deal with severe flooding caused by the morning's storms.
There were more than 100 people evacuated from their homes in Greenbriar 1 as a result of the flooding, and Riccio is coordinating with the township's Office of Emergency Management and the Red Cross to assist those who have been displaced from their homes.
More rain and severe storms are expected Monday afternoon and early evening, and police are asking residents to stay off the roads wherever possible.

The National Weather Service has said Brick Township received 7.83 inches of rain on Monday morning.
