State Issues 'Code Orange' Air Quality Alert For Today (EXPIRED)
Air pollution concentrations may be harmful to some.

Air quality in a word? Not good.
The New Jersey state Department of Environmental Protection has issued a ”code orange” air quality alert for today for coastal Ocean County.
That means air pollution concentrations may be unhealthy for children, people with asthma, heart or lung disease and the elderly, the DEP says.

”The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise,” the DEP says.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today, with a high near 88 degrees. Winds will be from the south at 11 to 13 miles per hour.

Expect partly cloudy skies tonight with a low of 68 degrees. Winds will switch to the southwest at seven to 11 miles per hour.
Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 82 degrees.
