'Stranger Things' Halloween Light Show Kicks Off In Brick
The Casqueira family is starting its nightly Halloween display of synchronized LED lights, paying homage to the popular Netflix show.

BRICK, NJ — It's about to get strange in Brick Township: The Casqueira Holiday Light Show's "A Stranger Things Halloween Light Show" begins Friday night.
The show consists of more than 100,000 synchronized LED lights and thousands of individually addressable pixels, along with music from the Netflix hit series. The music is broadcast on radio station 103.1 FM, allowing people to listen and watch the light show from their vehicles.
The Casqueiras use the light show to raise money for various nonprofit organizations, and the Halloween show donations will go to Lead U, a group of educators "who seek unique, often theatrical, methods of actively empowering children of all ages to help them find the leader within themselves," the family's announcement says.

Lead U, which was acquired by the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, includes focuses on anti-bullying, empowerment, mindfulness, and cyber-bullying. Donations will be collected in a lock box in front of the Casqueiras' home, and they also will accept donations to LeadU through a GoFundMe campaign. Donations also can be made directly to LeadU.
Piper's Treats, an ice cream truck, will be stopping by the light show on the busiest nights, and there will be giveaways provided by the Casqueira Holiday Light Show, the family said.

In addition to the synchronized light display, the family runs a customized crafts business that supports its mission. Casqueira Holiday Light Show Custom Shirts and Customizable Crafts is offering shirts that support the LeadU donations. A portion of each sale goes to the charity they are supporting.
The show is scheduled to be held nightly at the family's home, 843 Downey Ave. in Brick, until the end of the day on Halloween, the family said. It will play from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
"As a friendly reminder, please be courteous to our property, our neighbors, and other viewers. If you are able, please dim or turn off your headlights," the family said. "Please also be considerate of the music level. We love our enthusiastic viewers that sing, dance, and visit us; but just keep the noise at a friendly level for others and our neighbors who fully support what we do."
