STRONG's Todd Durkin, Fighter Frankie Edgar Set For Brick's Relay For Life
Durkin, a Brick native, will be joined by the cast of the NBC show for a special event at the Relay For Life fundraiser.

BRICK, NJ -- If you're planning to go to Brick Township High School on Friday night for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event, you'd better plan to get there plenty early.
Todd Durkin, a Brick Township High School graduate who is one of the trainers on the NBC show "STRONG," and the cast of the show will be at the high school for a special workout. They're going to be joined by UFC title contender Frankie Edgar, the mixed martial arts fighter and Toms River High School East graduate, Durkin tweeted and Edgar retweeted and posted on Instagram this week.
Durkin, who is promoting the event as "BRICK STRONG," is encouraging the community to come out and support Brick's Relay for Life, and he's hoping the BRICK STRONG event will raise $25,000.

"Honored and humbled to be asked to do the "Opening Address" at Friday Night's American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Brick, NJ. Wow. I was already pumped for the STRONG event starting at 7:45 pm this Friday. Now it got even DEEPER," Durkin said.
It will be the first time Durkin has set foot on Keller Memorial Field -- where he was the starting quarterback for the Brick Dragons under legendary coach Warren Wolf -- in many years.
There are still sponsorships available, Durkin said, as they try to reach the $25,000 goal.
"We will create IMPACT Friday night and make a difference to help fight this nasty disease!" he said.
The STRONG cast -- 16 of the 20 members are scheduled to attend, Durkin said -- will hold a free workout that he hopes will draw at least 500 people. The workout is open to anyone -- children or adults -- and there will be an autograph session afterward, Durkin said.
"My friends, Friday evening is going to be an epic night and I'm hoping you can make it if you are anywhere near the Jersey Shore," Durkin said.
