Teen 'Stable' After He's Hit Crossing Route 70
No charges are expected to be filed against the driver, police said.

A 16-year-old Toms River boy is hospitalized in stable condition after he was hit by a car while trying to cross Route 70 on Monday afternoon, Toms River police said.
The accident occurred about 12:40 p.m. when the teen stepped into the road near Yale Avenue and was hit by a 2006 Honda Civic driven by Vincent Marsala, 38 of Lilac Court, Jackson, Toms River police spokesman Ralph Stocco said.
The teen suffered head and internal injuries and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment of his injuries, Stocco said.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the car, Stocco said.
The teen lives near the site of the accident, he said.

Traffic Safety Officer Robert Westfall is conducting the investigation along with investigators from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit.
