Three Hurt As Car Hits Mother Pushing Stroller Across Route 9, Reports Say

A woman, a child and an infant all were injured Monday night when they were hit by a car as they crossed Route 9 in Lakewood, according to media reports.

The Lakewood Scoop reported the infant is about 11 months old and the child was about 5 years old, and both suffered severe injuries, the report said.

Route 9 was closed between Central Avenue and Pine Street as a result of the accident, Lakewood police said, which happened about 10 p.m. The Asbury Park Press reported the crash happened near Edgewood Court.

All three were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, the Lakewood Scoop said.
