Time for update on dune easements

When will Shore homes have adequate protection from nor'easters and hurricanes?

“Statewide, there are fewer than 350 easements left to obtain and those are primarily in northern Ocean County, from the Manasquan Inlet to the Barnegat Inlet” -- Reported in the Star-Ledger, November 20, 2014.

This year’s hurricane season is almost over, and we made it without a storm surge threatening our fragile environment. What about this winter’s nor-easters? What about next year, when hurricane season starts June 1st?

Hundreds of property owners are still resisting common-sense efforts to rebuild dunes and replenish beach sand to protect against storm surges that can flood thousands of homes and endanger our lives.
