Traffic Alert: Avoid Cedar Bridge-Brick Boulevard Area In Brick

BRICK, NJ — Motorists traveling in and around Brick Township should avoid the area of Brick Boulevard and Cedar Bridge Avenue due to a traffic accident, police said.

A Nixle alert sent by the police department at 5 p.m. said roads are closed in the area due to the incident. No details were given.

Photos sent by a Patch reader from the scene show a car with a traffic signal lying on top of it at the intersection. The car appears to be lying on the small island that defines the right-turn lane from eastbound Cedar Bridge onto Brick Boulevard.

Police have not released further information on the crash.

The closure is expected to last at least four hours, the alert said.
