TRAFFIC ALERT: Brick Boulevard Partially Reopened After Crash, Police Say

The southbound lanes remained closed early Wednesday evening, police said, and they ask motorists to continue to avoid the area.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police said the northbound lanes of Brick Boulevard have reopened Wednesday evening following a crash about noon that brought down a utility pole.

The southbound lanes remained closed as of 5 p.m. and police are asking motorists to continue to avoid Brick Boulevard.

In a Nixle alert issued at 12:15 p.m., police said a motor vehicle accident brought down a utility pole at 506 Brick Boulevard that blocked both north and southbound traffic.

The pole is near the entrance to the parking lots serving Yokohama sushi and hibachi restaurant and the strip mall housing the gold and silver dealer and the Cat Hospital.

The road is shut down between Bryn Mawr Drive, near the KFC, and Cedar Bridge Avenue, police said. It is not know how long the closure will last.
