TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 9 DWI Crash Causes Road Closure, Leads To Heroin Arrest
No one was injured in the crash, police said, but Route 9 remains closed Wednesday morning.

A crash Tuesday evening on Route 9 led to the arrests of two Toms River men -- one on a charge of drunken driving, the other on a drug charge -- and left the road closed Wednesday morning, police said.
There were no injuries, Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said.
Route 9 is closed at Sunset Avenue this morning and will likely remain closed into the afternoon while a utility pole is replaced by Jersey Central Power & Light, Stocco said, with detours in place at Sunset and at West Whitty Road.

The pole was extensively damaged when a 2007 Infiniti G35 driven by Nicholas Corsair, 19, of Raymond Avenue, left the road and hit the pole, Stocco said. Corsair was charged with driving while intoxicated, he said.
Corsair’s passenger, Robert Latronico, 23, also of Raymond Avenue, was found to have five outstanding warrants in the amount of $1,500 from Brick and Toms River and was arrested, Stocco said. He was also found to be in possession of heroin. His bail was set at $5,000, Stocco said.
