Traffic Delays, Signal Issues Linger For Hours In Brick
A power outage knocked out traffic signals in the area of Brick Boulevard, Cedar Bridge Ave and Drum Point Road.
BRICK, NJ — Traffic delays lingered for hours on Friday afternoon following a widespread power outage, the cause of which was never clear.
Brick Township police were on scene directing traffic at Cedar Bridge Avenue and Brick Boulevard and Jackson Avenue because traffic signals were not operating well into the evening rush hour.
The power outage began sometime before 11 a.m. and initially affected traffic signals in the area from Brick Boulevard along Cedar Bridge Avenue to the intersection with Old Hooper Avenue where Cedar Bridge Avenue becomes Mantoloking Road, and Old Hooper Avenue to Drum Point Road. Police said power lines were down in at least one spot.
