Trio Arrested, Crack Cocaine Seized From Brick Apartment: Police

Breaking: The arrests were the result of an investigation that lasted several months, police said.

BRICK, NJ — Three people were arrested and crack cocaine, Ecstasy, marijuana and cash seized from an apartment in Waterside Gardens on Thursday, Brick Township police said.

The Brick Township Police Drug Enforcement Unit and members of the Special Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant Thursday evening as the result of a several months-long investigation into drug activity and sales at the residence, Sgt. Neal Pedersen said.

Arrested were James Brown, 35, of Brick; Shakima Reeves, 35, of Brick, and Jessie May Elliott, 59, of Lakewood, Pedersen said.

Authorities seized about 30 grams of crack cocaine, more than one ounce of marijuana, an unspecificed amount of what was suspected to be Ecstasy (also known as “Molly”) and an unspecified amount of cash, he said.

Brown and Reeves were charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS over one-half ounce, distribution of CDS, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute over one ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia, he said.

Elliot was charged with possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia, Pedersen said.

Brown was taken to the Ocean County Jail; Reeves and Elliott were released on summonses, he said.
