Two-Year-Old Ocean County Girl Drowns In Neighbor's Pool
Parents dialed 911 after toddler was discovered missing on Monday evening.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the drowning death of a two-year-old Bayville girl who was found last night in the shallow end of a neighbor’s inground pool, a spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The toddler’s parents called 911 at 8:33 p.m. on Monday night when they realized the child was missing, said spokesman Al Della Fave.
Patrol officers responded to the area of Bittern Lane, interviewed the child‘s parents and immediately begin searching the neighborhood, he said.

Shortly after, police discovered the little girl floating in the shallow end of the next-door neighbor’s pool, Della Fave said.
“ Life saving measures at the scene was immediately rendered and the unresponsive child was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for additional treatment,” he said. ” Sadly the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital at 9:24 pm.”

Berkeley Township police secured the decedent’s residence for further investigation. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Berkeley Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI. The partnering investigating agencies will consult with Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor’s to determine if the filing of any criminal charges is appropriate.
