BRICK, NJ — A Pennsylvania teenager has been identified as the person who died Saturday evening in a crash on the Garden State Parkway in Brick.

Rachel Upright, 15, of New Milford, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened at 5:22 p.m. Saturday, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said Sunday.

Upright was a passenger in a Hyundai Santa Fe that was hit while it was stopped on the right shoulder of the northbound Parkway at milemarker 93.3, Peele said.

Another passenger in the Hyundai was seriously injured and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment, he said.
