The Board of Education recognized the squad, which took grand champion honors at the Cheer and Dance Nationals in Virginia Beach in April.
The Brick Memorial High School cheerleading squad went, they saw, and they conquered.
And the team -- grand champions at the Cheer And Dance Extreme Nationals in Virginia Beach in March -- was honored at the Brick Township Board of Education meeting for its success on Thursday night.
The squad of 21 girls and two boys took the Grand National Champions overall and the national co-ed championship title at the competition, March 14 and 15, outscoring the competition by 7 points for the grand national champion title, coach Jacquelyn Marousis-Bush told the board. They outpointed the co-ed competition by 20 points for the national champion title, she said.
