Severe Thunderstorm, Flash Flooding Warning Extended For Ocean County: July 16, 2016
The National Weather Service issued the warning for northern Ocean County and has been extended.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northern Ocean County on Saturday, July 16, after a strong thunderstorm was seen on radar, the National Weather Service said.
The storm was seen about 20 miles west of Toms River and was moving northeast at 25 mph, the weather service said. The storm includes penny-sized hail and wind gusts of up to 60 mph, forecasters said.
The initial warning was scheduled to end at 3 p.m., but forecasters have pushed the ending time back at least three times as additional storm cells have moved through. The latest update extended the warning until 5:45 p.m.

"Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding," the warning said.
Take precautions and do not drive through flooded roads, officials said.
