The snow that started falling a little before 3 p.m. has made a mess of the roads throughout Brick and neighboring towns, causing fender benders and making for very hazardous travel due to low visibility.
The town and the county have been salting the roads but plowing, if it occurs, won’t happen until there is at least 4 inches of snow, due to the risk of damaging the plows.

The speed at which the snow is falling, however, has created very slippery conditions. Brick Boulevard and Hooper Avenue from Brick all the way to Water Street was jammed with traffic this afternoon as drivers slowed to 10 to 15 mph. At least one fender bender occurred on northbound Hooper Avenue near the Seacourt Pavilion, where a white SUV apparently slid into the passenger side of a red sedan. There did not appear to be any injuries.
