It’s a quiet week in Brick. Here’s a few things on tap leading into Presidents Day weekend:

On Wednesday, the Ocean County Library’s Upper Shores Branch at 112 Jersey City Ave., Lavallette, hosts the show “Paul Robeson: Renaissance Man,” at 4 p.m. Actor/educator Marvin Jeffersonas portrays one of the most well-known African Americans of the 20th century. Paul Robeson, a New Jersey native, was a social activist and advocate for international peace, an All-American athlete, a lawyer, singer, linguist and scholar. Funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Also on Wednesday, the township Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building.

On Friday, the township Recreation Department hosts its first Daddy-Daughter Dance at the Civic Plaza beginning at 6 p.m. The cost is $25 per father-daughter pair.

As a reminder, township offices will be closed next Monday for Presidents Day.
