Storm watchers are closely eyeing the winter storm making its way up the East Coast, with forecasters saying this will be the first truly significant snowfall of the winter.
But will we really get walloped here in Ocean County?

Probably not, according to the forecasts.
The National Weather Service’s Mount Holly office says the coastal areas are likely to see a mix of snow and rain that will change to mostly rain and sleet by Saturday morning.

Accuweather.com is calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow for much of South Jersey.
That means, however, that while we won’t be digging out like other areas will be, travel could be hazardous, as temperatures hover in the 30s and drop below freezing at night. Motorists will need to be alert to the possibility of icy roads.
There could be snow again Sunday night into Monday, according to the weather service; Weather Underground is predicting an inch of snow tops for Ocean County in that storm.
