Woman Stole Prescription Forms From Brick Doctor, Forged Them To Get Drugs: Police
Candace Colbert is accused of taking the forms from her employer, and passing the fraudulent forms in Toms River, police said.

BRICK, NJ — A woman who worked in a Brick Township doctor's office has been charged with forgery and fraud in connection with 36 falsified prescription scripts used at pharmacies in Toms River, Brick Township police said Tuesday.
Candace Colbert, 60, was arrested Friday at her home in Berkeley Township during the execution of a search warrant, Brick Patrol Officer Victoria Finelli said.
Colbert is accused of stealing the blank prescription scripts from the doctor's office where she worked dating back to March 2022, Finelli said. She then forged the scripts for prescriptions, and fraudulently them at pharmacies in Toms River.

Neither the doctor's office nor the pharmacies were identified.
Colbert has been charged with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud; forgery by writing; theft of movable property; practice of medicine by an unlicensed person; possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin; intent to distribute crack cocaine; drug paraphernalia; tampering with evidence, and obstructing administration of law, Finelli said.

Colbert was processed at Brick Police Headquarters and released on a summons.
