Woman's ID Sought In Brick Car Burglaries

"Lock your cars. Please! Every night. Every lot, in your driveway. All the time," police said.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police are seeking the public's help in identifying a woman who was seen on surveillance video burglarizing unlocked cars in the Lake Riviera section of the township.

The burglaries happened about 5 a.m. on Monday, on Cornell and Bryn Mawr drives, and in both burglaries the vehicles were unlocked.

The woman seen in the video was seen by and spoke to a a resident in the area. She was described as a white female, 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-2 with shoulder-length brown hair. She was wearing jeans and a white blouse. She left the area after being picked up in an unknown vehicle, police said.

"Most car burglaries occur to unlocked vehicles," Brick police said in a Facebook post on the issue. "It is rare that we have someone smashing windows to gain entry. Those that happen are usually the result of something valuable being left in sight."

"Lock your cars. Please! Every night, every lot, in your driveway, in the street in front of your house, all the time," police said.
