Y.A.L.E School Honors Local Educator
Public/Private School Partnership is a "Win-Win" for Students with Disabilities and the Environment

Hamilton Township, NJ - Leaders at Y.A.L.E. School’s Northfield Campus have selected Scott P. Scott, Technology Coordinator for the Hamilton Township School District in Mays Landing as the first recipient of the GreenVision Environmental Awareness Award. Mr. Scott, employed by the Hamilton School District for the past 15 years, has working in partnership with Y.A.L.E. School to recycle unwanted electronics from the Hamilton Township schools.
Y.A.L.E. School’s GreenVision program is a solution for local businesses and schools to responsibly recycle computers, keyboards and other broken or outdated technology, while providing educational “hands-on” opportunities for students with disabilities to learn job skills. The program keeps electronic waste out of landfills while teaching Y.A.L.E.’s students about sustainability as they participate in environmental service-learning projects in the school and the community.
“I would recommend the program to any school in the State of New Jersey. Knowing we can partner with the private sector and have them benefit as much as we benefit, is a win-win,” said Mr. Scott during a recent interview. Mr. Scott was also a recipient of the Green Ribbon award from the federal government citing participation in the Y.A.L.E. School’s GreenVision Program.
