1 Dead, 4 Injured In 2-Car Crash In Bridgewater

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office and Bridgewater Township Police are investigating the crash.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — One person is dead, and four others are hospitalized with injuries following a two-car crash in Bridgewater on Saturday night, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

At 9:41 p.m., Bridgewater Police went to Finderne Avenue near the intersection of Van Veghten Drive, where officers saw a two-car accident involving a Honda and a Kia.

The driver of the Honda was taken to an area trauma hospital for treatment of injuries, said McDonald.

The driver of the Kia, a man from Piscataway, suffered critical injuries.

He was taken to a local trauma hospital, where he later died from his injuries, said McDonald.

The front passenger and two rear passengers of the Kia were also taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, along with the Bridgewater Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, are investigating.
