2 Deaths, 33 Coronavirus Cases Reported In 1 Day In Bridgewater
This is 14 cases higher than the township's highest number of coronavirus cases ever reported - which was 19 back in April.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Two deaths and 33 new coronavirus cases were reported in one day in Bridgewater on Thursday. This is 14 cases higher than the township's previous highest number of new daily cases.
These new deaths and cases bring Bridgewater's total number of positive cases to 799 and 69 deaths since the pandemic began in March. The last time a death was reported in Bridgewater was on Oct. 4.

The spike in cases is not isolated to just Bridgewater. Somerset County is reporting 102 new cases Thursday bringing the total to 8,058 cases and 530 confirmed deaths.

Kevin Sumner, Bridgewater Township Health Officer offered the following key messages for residents:
- We have received many calls about individuals not abiding by quarantines, especially as they relate to schools
- Maintain physical distance
- Wear a face covering
- Wash your hands
- Avoid gatherings and parties
- Follow the directions of health professionals, especially if advised to isolate or quarantine
- Even if you do not feel sick that does not mean you cannot give it to someone else if you have been exposed
- As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday it is very important to avoid contact with people not of your household
