22 Cats Taken In At Somerset Regional Animal Shelter

SRAS took back 13 cats from the Bergen County Animal Shelter, and 9 more from St. Huberts in Madison to help with overcrowding.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Somerset Regional Animal Shelter has taken in 22 cats to help with overcrowding and to try to find them their "furever" homes.

Shelter manager Brian Bradshaw took the shelter's transport van on "a bit of a rescue mission" on Tuesday, bringing back 13 cats from the Bergen County Animal Shelter, and nine more from St. Huberts in Madison to help with overcrowding, according to Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.

"There is no reason to have empty cages when we can work together and save more NJ cats,"Somerset Regional Animal Shelter posted.

All of the cats are up for adoption.

With the additional cats being taken in the shelter is in need of donations to help care for them. Friends Of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter(FOSRAS) is an all-volunteer 501c3 organization and donations are tax-deductible. To donate visit fosras.com/donate.

The shelter is located at 100 Commons Way in Bridgewater and is open daily from noon to 4 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Wednesday. For more information visit srasnj.org.
