22 West Tap & Grill To Add Parking, Outdoor Dining Area

The outdoor dining area will have seating for 62 people, an outdoor bar with 2 televisions and a gas fireplace.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — 22 West Tap & Grill located off Route 22 West, on the border of Bound Brook and Bridgewater, has big plans and is expanding into the lot next door.

Kevin Trimarchi, owner of the highly-rated restaurant, purchased the just over half-acre lot on Thompson Avenue in October. It is located right behind the restaurant and currently has a burned down home on the property.

The Bridgewater Planning Board approved the expansion during the Tuesday night meeting.

Trimarchi will use the entire lot to build a parking lot with 40 extra spots for the over-flowing amount of customers coming to restaurant.

Additionally, Trimarchi will be blowing out the wall that is to the right of the main entrance. The wall will be replaced with garage doors that can go up and down and act as windows. This will allow Trimarchi to open the doors on nice days to bring airflow inside and also expand the dining floor plan into where the new covered porch will be.

The porch area will have seating for 62 people and an outdoor bar with two televisions and a gas fireplace.

"It will give a more of a indoor-outdoor feel to the restaurant," Trimarchi said.

Work will begin as soon as possible and the goal completion date is Labor Day.

"Just before the start of the football season," Trimarchi said.

Trimarchi, who grew up in the Martinsville area of Bridgewater opened the restaurant in December 2016 and has already had great success.

"It's been amazing, it's like a dream come true," Trimarchi said.

With the expansion, 22 West will be looking to hire more employees to service the new outdoor/indoor space.
