24 Deaths, 215 Cases: Latest Bridgewater Coronavirus Update

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The number of deaths has risen to 24 in Bridgewater and 215 positive cases of the new coronavirus as of Wednesday, county and township officials report.
Bridgewater also held its first Telephone Town Hall on Tuesday for residents where the municipal response to the COVID-19 pandemic was discussed. (Anyone who missed the call can listen to it below.)
"Myself, along with the Township Council, are always looking for different ways to reach the residents of this community," said Mayor Matthew Moench. "When I took office just over 100 days ago, I knew that I wanted to foster a proactive and responsive government. This crisis has crystallized the importance of that mission. Last night was a success and I look forward to engaging further with our residents and hearing from them directly."

The Township has created a dedicated email, Coronavirus@BridgewaterNJ.gov, and phone number, 908-429-8444, for COVID-19 related inquiries.

In Somerset County the totals have risen to 101 deaths and 2,001 positive coronavirus tests.

Beginning on Thursday, Somerset County and Hunterdon County will open a joint new coronavirus drive-thru testing site at Raritan Valley Community College.
The test site at RVCC, at 118 Lamington Rd. in Branchburg, will open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 16, 17 and 20. Testing is for county residents only and they must have an appointment. Read More: Somerset, Hunterdon Counties Open Joint Coronavirus Testing Site
