25 Bridgewater Road Projects Advance, Set To Be Repaved

The Bridgewater Council passed five resolutions awarding contracts to repave 25 roadways in the township.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater's road improvement plan continues to move forward as the township council has awarded contracts to repave 25 roadways.

The Bridgewater Mayor and Council unanimously passed five resolutions on Monday night awarding contracts to ADG Contracting Corp., CCM Contracting, Inc., and Top Line Constuction Corp.

Mayor Matthew Moench noted the bids came back lower than the township expected and he is hoping to possibly add more roads this year with the leftover funding.

"They all came in underpriced," said Moench. "The plan is to put together at least one more or two additional road packages. If we move quickly enough those road projects can be done this year. If not would they would go with the others at the beginning of 2021."

The following contracts and roadways to be paved are as follows:

  • Contract awarded to ADG Contracting Corp. to repave the entire lengths of Field Street, Grand Boulevard, Manville Boulevard, Riha Street and Woodrow Avenue for a total of $604, 936.80.
  • Contract awarded to ADG Contracting Corp. to repave the entire lengths of Burning Bush Road, Camelot Drive, Falcon Court, Mountainview Avenue, Red Lion Way, St. George Road, and Victor Street (from Mountainview Avenue to Byrd Avenue) for a total of $1,119,062.82.
  • Contract awarded to CCM Contracting, Inc. to repave the entire lengths of Cambridge Lane, Mark Drive, Muirfield Lane, and Tok Place for a total of $815,665.48.
  • Contract awarded to Top Line Construction Corp. to repave the entire lengths of Cricket Lane, Mallard Drive, Mastapeter Road, and North Gaston Avenue for a total of $551,839.52.
  • Contract awarded to CCM Contracting, Inc. to repave the entire lengths of Amur Road, Cedarcrest Road, Diamond Place, Opal Way, and Redwood Road for a total of $618,381.50.

The construction work on these roads includes curbing, milling, paving, drainage, sewer and other miscellaneous improvements.

The repaving of these roads is part of the township's plan that Moench put into motion last year. The plan calls on the township to spend $8 million each year over the next 5 years to remedy the roadways after all of 600 township roadways were assessed and ranked from best to worst. All of the projects are funded through the 2021 Capital Fund.
